Nerd Wars Tournament #2

Hereby I declare: the minimum is one blog post per week. Sounds like a plan, so let's start: we just moved and there's one really cool thing going on. I'm talking about Nerd Wars.

I made it and got the team I wanted, so horray for Team Hellmouth!

Planned projects are a Cordelia-style sweater like this one in a laceweight yarn and a Sylvi (see Rav pattern database). And maybe some more, have yet to decide on the project for the third month ...

Wise Advice #1

Don't try to knit lace after taking codeine. It's going to be a mess.

WIP: Joelle

In June 2008 I got a gorgeous swap box from a girl named Joelle. She lives in NYC and compiled a box full of - mostly green - treats. Finally, one and a half year later, it is time to make a shawl out of the Tilli Tomas yarn I drooled over so long.

Meet Joelle. I'm afraid of running out of yarn as the edging eats much more than expected. I'll keep you updated.

FO: White Atlantic

I finished a Shetland Stole made out of Artfibers Chutney (100% silk fingering weight) a few days ago. It went pretty fast for a stole and I really enjoyed knitting it. The finished object is huge (44 x 240cm), I expected it to be much smaller but anyway.

The pattern is currently being test knitted and is expected for release in the beginning of February.

10 shawls in 2010

I will be both participant and a sponsor of the 10 shawls in 2010 knitalong on Ravelry. I'm not sure whether I can complete the challenge but at least I want to try!

International Knit a Sweater a Month Dodecathon 2010

I decided to take part in this knitalong as I definitely need more sweaters and am tired of cotton hoodies which have seen way too much laundry sessions. I need stylish sweaters and even more stylish cardigans.

A good starting point will be Bright Star and Kelmscott from the current Twist Collective issue. I've not yet decided on the yarn for Kelmscott but am sure Ferber's new Merino 80 (always good to support local yarnies and mills, isn't it?) was a good choice for Bright Star.
